This is just a handy guide to the weapons and gadgets that you unlock while playing GoldenEye 007 for the Wii from Nintendo. (This list applies to ONLINE ONLY.) We've color-coded the list with RED for weapons and GREEN for gadgets.
The game supports "custom loadouts" which allow players to setup different "groups" of equipment. In all but one case, players can equip only one item in each category at a time.
Everyone is bound to have their own preference for equipment, online map, and game mode. (You view a synopsis of the online game modes with video snippets for each
here.)

What's the difference?
-
Bio Booster
This seems to give the player overall increased health, the ability to survive more than one melee attack, and more than one sniper bullet.
-vs-
Reactive Armor
The player seems to be able to survive more gunshots and take less splash damage.

Q: Can other players see this giant light beacon waving around?
A: Maybe. Normally (for multiplayer balance purposes) only YOU can see the "line of red light" emanating from YOUR weapon...HOWEVER, in rare circumstances, it MAY BE visible (through a glitch, hack, or oddity in programming) if someone throws a smoke grenade (or if there is swirling dust in the air). In these cases, opponents will see it moving around in real-time. (This "light" is only visible in those areas effected by the smoke/dust.) You may never experience this, but personally I've seen it on the "Jungle" multiplayer map.
-
Equipping a silencer reduces the range and damage of your weapon. It slightly increases the accuracy of the weapon. (Damage reduction can be negated with "Heavy Hitter".)
-
The Grenade Launcher (or "noob-tube" in this online multiplayer) is one of the most annoying things(5) in the online game. It's a one-hit-one-kill weapon and takes almost zero skill to use. Always an act of desperation, gamers will often kill you as well as themselves. Killing yourself DOES give you "-1" to your score, but should really give you "-10" to discourage its use in this fashion. (And it doesn't help that this is available from the beginning in a standard loadout.)
The term "noob-tube" is often used to refer to a rocket launcher, but since the rocket launcher isn't available in the online multiplayer mode, the term is applied to the granade launcher.
-
The most annoying things in the online experience:
- "Noob-tube" - see previous entry
- "Rage quit" - dropping out of a game because it's not going as you'd like (When performed by the game host it's referred to as "host rage". It ends the game for every player, does not alter stats, and generally just wastes everybody's time)
- generally being a "bbbbb for stats" - disconnecting during a game to preserve your "streak" or stats in general
These issues aren't unique to GoldenEye, they're just an epidemic in GoldenEye. And few of these things could have been prevented by the programmers. This is mainly just a reflection on the poor quality players of the game.
Since there's one in-game "accolade" that requires you to play "every mode on every map", we've put together a printable grid to help you keep track of which of the 90 matches you've played and those you still need. You can view and print it here. (The printable page also includes some cheat codes for your convenience.)
We've also created a simple list of GoldenEye multiplayer weapons and their in-game ratings.
Here's a nice, easy, cross-platform voice chat solution.
