"Ted's ddX Speech"

Ladies & Gentlemen

Distinguished nobel men & women

Honored guests

My fellow Yeah Doggians

And most importantly I would like to recognize the founding fathers ( i.e. the original members) of the single most:
fantastic,
spectacular,
organized,
and original
pseudo-fraternity the world has ever seen,

YEAH DOGG

On the eve of such a momentous occasion, the 10 year anniversary of Dogg Days, I feel it is only appropriate to address longtime friends, with a short speech.

I come here today, call it fate, call it luck, from nearly 2000 miles away to this great state of Pennsylvania, well technically we're in Maryland but...

Due to this great distance as well as other factors, I regret my presence at Dogg Days in recent years has been limited, but I was always and will always, be with you in spirit.

I left you at the close of the 20th and return to you now nearly a decade later in the honor of the 21st which was ushered in so cruelly & violently.

I feel I am obligated to address this matter seeing as how the 7th anniversary was only yesterday.

The 21st century was ushered in so cruelly and violently by the single most devastating act of terror this country has ever seen, setting the stage for countless atrocities & horrors to come throughout this reality driven country as of yet, changing lives forever.

But let us not dwell on melancholy & darkness, for now is a time for jovial camaraderie & celebration.

Fret not my friends, for we are still here. YEAH DOGG is still here. Yes, we have lost friends along the way, yet we have seen new families emerge & begin to blossom providing renewed hope for a better future.

Throughout the years, we have seen wonderful marriages of our great members, some resulting in births of beautiful children:
  • Rosalie & Gretchen VVVDDDDDD
  • Emma HHHHHHHHHH.
  • Olivia KLLLLL.
  • and those I've not yet met
We have also seen great successes & mind boggling new wonders in the century.

In the year 2000 we saw the NHL return to my great state of birth, Minnesota. The '02-'03 season saw the Wild not only retiring the great Patrick Roy in game 7 of the Conference Quarterfinals, but advancing all the way to the Conference Finals in their 1st ever playoff appearance.

During this time we have also seen hilarious insanity like the dawn of reality television, monumental blunders such as:
  • The Wizinator
  • The Bush administration
  • American Idol
  • and Britney Spears tabloid career
  • 2 words... Paris Hilton
The internets have provided us with our own individual 15 Andy Warhol minutes due to YouTube, free pornography, until they figured out how to charge us for it, and anything you could possibly want from the worldwide garage sale, eBay, provided one can snipe in a bid at the last possible second.

The Internet has also given us, thanks to the insanely talented and infinitely creative Matthew C., YEAH DOGG ONLINE.

These next points have been chosen with specific individuals in mind. After hearing them you will know who you are and please respond with a HHHH and/or FFFF Yeah.

In this century we have seen:
  • The first good Batman movie and apparently the funniest as well in Borat. Nice!
  • Tom Brady's Cologne
  • And how could any of us forget that in the 2005-2006 season the Pittsburgh Steelers became Super Bowl Champions.
We have seen all these great things in this century, but let us not forget the distant past...our past, together. Let us not forget but instead let us remember and learn.

In the presence of my fellow Yeah Doggians the now distant past also conjures up great successes & mind blowing wonders that we have seen. Let us not forget that we have seen:
  • Nerds in Love
  • JFFFF.'s Lemonade, see?
  • Cahoots in front of the basement of Gerry Hall using free Marlboro grills.
Let us not forget that we have seen:
  • Beer Pong on the always infamous YEAH DOGG TABLE
  • Atlantic City, due to our fearless leader who made it all happen
And let us not forget that we have seen unfairly judged Lip Sync competitions especially when we blanketed the crowd with our own currency... THE YEAH DOGG DOLLAR BILL.

We have seen some question the longevity of such a formidable institution as YEAH DOGG and I say to them...

If a man can legally change his name in this country to Ocho Cinco, then YEAH DOGG can, and will, live on forever!

So raise your glass and let us toast together to the next 10 years & beyond.

To you my friends, to us.
