Short History
Yeah Dogg was created in 1996 on the campus of Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. (You can click a link below to view a picture of the campus.)

Click here for an introduction and the "who", "what", "where", "when", "why" and "how".

The college was experiencing a shortage of housing space due a large number of incoming freshmen. To remedy the situation, the college decided to place the excess freshmen in one of the upperclassmen dorms and relocate the upperclassmen that were assigned those rooms. The upperclassmen (the Yeah Dogg founding fathers) were selected to be relocated and were given the opportunity to live in the basement of Gerard Hall. The basement had (for a few years) been vacant due to fire code violations or something of that sort.

To make a long story short, we (the upperclassmen) took the basement rooms, got Ted back from Australia, and the rest is history. Moving us into the basement of Gerry produced a motley crew of misfits which eventually became what is now known today as Yeah Dogg.

That's pretty much all the history you need to know right now.

Look at that dog go!

Yeah Dogg is akin to a fraternal organization.  You won't find any Greek letters here, but you will find plenty of Dionysian celebrations of student life and the weekend in general. Yeah Dogg has faced many obstacles in its fight for continued existence as Saint Vincent College has its reservations about social fraternities/sororities and as a result, forbids them.

Since official social fraternities and sororities are banned from campus, students form "pseudo-fraternities" and "pseudo-sororities." (Each group of students live together and take a name.)  They're similar to their Greek counterparts with the exception of the ridiculous notions of dues and hazing.

Yeah Dogg is not the first of this kind on the Saint Vincent campus and it won't be the last. As far as being the best, well, we're the best pseudo-frat SVC has ever seen.  Most of these groups don't last more than a year and no group has survived after their founding members graduated. This is not the case with Yeah Dogg. Since inception, Yeah Dogg has been going strong and still kicking AAA.

Favorite Yeah Dogg activities include Beer Pong, Flip Cup, hitting hot dog and hamburger buns with tennis rackets, throwing great parties, playing video games, being obnoxious in the cafeteria, "Lip Sync" competitions, giving everyone a nickname, and, of course, barbecuing!

Yeah Dogg has also developed many "hall sports" such as "The Wall Climb" and "Bounce." They are also known to play football, golf, hockey, and hacky-sack in the hallway.
